We decided to buy the Jazz con Amore package at the Granduca Houston for our 25th Anniversary. To begin with, I would recommend staying here as it is a wonderful hotel but I would not advise getting a package. Nothing was actually provided. We had to ask to get everything the package offered. The package offered a room on an upper floor overlooking the gardens or pool. Preferred reserved seating at a Saturday night Jazz performance, Complimentary bottle of Prosecco, Breakfast in bed for two & Guaranteed late check-out.
This is how it worked...
They put us in a room on the 3rd floor facing the busy and loud 610 loop. Neither a higher floor or facing pool/garden. We called down and they did change us to another room but on the same floor. Balcony was nice but chairs were missing the cushions. We called to have some brought up (every other balcony had cushions on their chairs). They never brought. When we returned from dinner to find our reserved seating for the "Jazz" night, nothing was reserved but I guess it didn't matter since there weren't many people there. It's really just a piano bar with hints of jazz. We then inquired about our complimentary bottle of Proseco and they said they would have it sent up to the room. It was there when we went back later in the evening. We inquired about the complimentary breakfast in bed and were told we could choose between the Continental or American. There was only continental. They charged us for the breakfast and told us we would need to have it refunded at the front desk upon checkout. So, we did and it was a lengthy process which required a manager to come over. Overall the hotel is very nice but the service and attention to detail was lacking.
