My mom was here for 7 months until she passed away from contracting pneumonia at this facility. Yes, just like a child is exposed to all sorts of viruses at a day care, so are the elderly at a nursing home. One thing though, my mom had late stage dementia and she had diabetes so her immune system was weak. But I can say this, overall this is a good facility. My mom's room was always kept clean and she was bathed regularly. The facility was kept clean and the temperature was good, not too hot or cold, even on the coldest and hottest days. The food was not too good and one thing that you have to be careful with is that anything that you bring to your loved one or any personal belongings that you leave unattended in the room even if it's just to take your loved one outside can disappear. So be very careful with that. Also, on the weekends, they are generally short on staff so don't expect the same level of service as you do Monday through Friday. Actually, if you need something for your loved one, I suggest that you ask for it by Friday because there are no guarantees that it will be done on the weekend.
